Learn how Peter Bowman doubled his practice to 2 million this past year by learning how to define his goals, maintain focus, and not deviate and achieve his dream practice.
Dr. Peter Bowman is a California native practicing in rural New Hampshire. Dr. Bowman partied way too much in college and struggled to understood his course materials until well after grades were given, earning a 2.9 GPA. Among his saving graces was scoring 99th percentile on the DAT and an artistic right hand. He’s proud to admit he was the last student accepted into his dental class at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 2004. He finished dental school in 2008 with a 3.4 GPA and clinical awards in Endodontics and Removable Prosthodontics.
Dr. Bowman spent 14 months as an associate dentist in a 3-doctor group practice that grossed $1.4 million in Vermont. In 2009, Dr. Bowman bought a small, 3-operatory New Hampshire practice of about 900 patients that produced $552,000. In 7 years, he grew his practice into 8 operatories with 2575 active patients (seen in an 18 month period), and collected 1.8million in 2016, with an enviable net. The practice is mostly FFS, excepting participation with Delta Premier, and virtually zero external marketing had been performed at the time.
Dr. Bowman has never had to fire or significantly reprimand a team member as an owner dentist. Therefore, he is either a complete pushover or has garnered an understanding of strong synergistic working relationships with others. “Employees don’t quit their positions, they quit their bosses.”
